Brown Dog Farm — Our Farmers profile (Boulder Broth)

Bessie and Tim, the founders of Brown Dog Farm moved to Longmont, Colorado in 2013 after working on farms all over the southwest.
Brown Dog Farm now grows over 40 different fresh and organic vegetables on roughly two acres of land.

Boning up on broth

Broth is slow-simmered for long periods of time, 24 to 72 hours. We use all the cartilage, and fat in the skin.
It takes tons of high-quality bones to make a relatively small amount of good broth. It's very expensive to make, but that's what it takes.
